Efthymios Kanaris
Efthymios Kanaris studied at the London School of Economics and Political Science in the field of Accounting and Finance and graduated with First Class Honours.
He was then employed at Price Waterhouse Coopers (PwC) in Cyprus and London at the Financial Services Audit Department and the Insurance and Investment Markets Audit Department respectively.
During his employment at PwC Cyprus, he was in charge of a large portfolio of audit clients dealing in the financial services sector both in Cyprus and in the international environment.
In addition, while in PwC London, he was involved in the audits of investment management clients and pension funds and multinational insurance companies with presence in the City of London and Lloyds.
He has also participated in several professional training courses and seminars and gained substantial experience in relation to compliance and tax services.
Efthymios Kanaris is a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA), member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC). He is also a member of the ICAEW Audit and Assurance and Financial Reporting faculties.
Efthymios Kanaris is a founding member of Kanaris, Demetriades & Associates. He is a Director and leads the Compliance and Tax departments of the firm.
Marios Demetriades
Marios Demetriades graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) with First Class Honours in the field of Accounting and Finance.
He then pursued a career in the Assurance department of Ernst & Young London (EY) following a successful summer internship. His main clients were British Airways, Hilton Group, Ladbrokes and Fuller Smith & Turner.
After qualifying with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) he transferred to the Transaction Support department of EY’s Corporate Finance division where he gained financial due diligence experience.
During this time he acquired the Corporate Finance Diploma from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW).
Marios then relocated to Cyprus to continue his career as the Head of the Chairman’s office of Cyprus Airways Plc (CY) where he spent two years driving a number of projects and co-ordinating the top management team. He was promoted to assistant manager shortly after his employment, was a member of the aircraft negotiating committee and a Director of Zenon NDC (a subsidiary of CY).
Marios completed his army service as a Second Lieutenant and took active part in the LSE Cypriot Society. His main interests lie in football, business reading and music.
Marios Demetriades is a founding member of Kanaris, Demetriades & Associates. He is a Director and leads the Audit and Advisory departments of the firm.
